Bulldog Softball announces 2023 schedule

The Fresno State softball program will host three nonconference tournaments (two in February and one in March) before starting Mountain West play this spring.

FRESNO, Calif. – The sounds and scents of spring are returning to Margie Wright Diamond this February with the Fresno State softball team scheduled to host 29 home games in 2023, including the return of three home nonconference tournaments at the southeast corner of Cedar and Barstow Avenues.

Fresno State begins its 2023 campaign in Southern California by traveling to UC Riverside on opening weekend before hosting two straight nonconference tournaments – the Fresno State Kickoff Classic (Feb. 16-19) and the Fresno State Invitational (Feb. 23-26). Stacy May-Johnson is entering her second season as the Bulldogs' head coach.

The Bulldogs will then compete in the Judi Garman Classic at Cal State Fullerton during the first week of March – a month which also includes road games at Pacific (March 8), Cal (March 15), LMU (March 17-18) and Sacramento State (March 21), along with the return of the Bulldog Classic (March 10-12) to the Central Valley.

Mountain West play is set to open for the 'Dogs with a three-game series at San Diego State (March 24-26), who will also host the inaugural MW softball tournament during the second week of May.

In total, Fresno State will host four conference opponents in either three or two-game series this spring:

New Mexico (March 31-April 2)

San Jose State (April 12)

Nevada (April 21-23)

Boise State (May 4-6)

Midweek home nonconference matchups later in the season include a doubleheader with Santa Clara (March 29) and a single game against Stanford (April 26) – all at Margie Wright Diamond.
