BULLDOG BONES

Fresno State has now won four-straight games, dating back to its critical 17-10 win over San Jose State on Oct. 15. Since then, the Bulldogs have picked up wins over New Mexico (41-9), San Diego State (32-28) and Hawai'i (55-13). The four-straight wins is Fresno State's longest winning streak in a season since 2018. That season, the 'Dogs won seven in a row, and had the winningest season in program history with a 12-2 record with a Mountain West Championship and a Las Vegas Bowl victory.

The Bulldogs, who are now 4-1 in conference play, sit atop the West Division standings with San Jose State. However, since Fresno State defeated San Jose State on Oct. 15, the Bulldogs would win the tiebreaker with the Spartans for the chance to represent the West Division in the Mountain West Championship game.

With a win on Friday, Fresno State would become bowl eligible for the second-straight season. It will be the first time since the 2017 and 2018 seasons that Fresno State was bowl eligible in back-to-back seasons.

For the third time this season, Fresno State has been flagged for a penalty only once. Notably, two of those three games with just one penalty have been on the road at Boise State and at New Mexico.

Fresno State senior quarterback Jake Haener has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for his performance that led Fresno State to its 55-13 win against Hawai'i last Saturday night at Valley Children's Stadium. Monday's announcement marks the first time this season, and the second of his career, that Haener has earned the honor from the conference. He is the second Bulldog to earn a weekly honor from the conference this season, but it is the first time a Bulldog has earned the offensive recognition since Jordan Mims on Nov. 1, 2021.

Senior running back Jordan Mims had his eighth career 100-yard rushing performance last weekend, finishing with 18 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown. Saturday's 100-yard rushing performance was Mims' fourth of the season. With one more 100-yard rushing game on the year, Mims will break into the Top 15 in program history for most 100-yard rushing games in a single season. If he reaches his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the year, Mims will become the first Bulldog rusher to have at least five in one season since Marteze Waller in 2014. Waller had seven that season.

As the season continues on, Mims is trending in the correct direction to hit the 1,000 yard mark. Mims is averaging 89 rushing yards per game this season, and with three games guaranteed ahead, things are looking good. If Mims hits the 1,000-yard mark, he would become the first Bulldog to have a 1,000 yard rushing season since Marteze Waller in 2014. The 2022 season would be the 22nd time that the Bulldogs had a 1,000 yard rusher, and Mims would be the 16th player to do so all-time.

Senior David Perales leads the group with 8.5 sacks through six games this season. His 0.94 sacks per game average leads all MW players and is No. 4 in the FBS. Although having played in all nine games, his 8.5 sacks this season have been recorded in just five games with a career-best 4.0 sacks against San Jose State. Perales has 19.5 career sacks, tying for eighth in program history with Chris Carter (2007-10) and Zack Rix (1989-92).
