Night of Champions returns in style

Fresno State’s student-athletes came together to celebrate at the Save Mart Center.

FRESNO, Calif. – For the first time since 2019, Fresno State's Night of Champions returned to the Save Mart Center on Monday evening to celebrate the Bulldogs' accomplishments over the past few years with a focus on the 2021-22 academic year.

Emily Nicholson (Water Polo) and Orlando Robinson (Men's Basketball) earned the department's top honors as the Bob Duncan Bulldogs of the Year.

Along with showcasing the department's conference champions and All-Americans, the ceremony was hosted by Savannah Fitzgerald (Water Polo) and Elle Martin (Equestrian) and nominees from every sport were recognized, along with the winners in these respective categories:

Director of Athletics Community Service Award: Women's Tennis

George Ilg Newcomer Awards: Pang Jittakoat (Women's Tennis) & Elijah Gates (Football)

Harold Haak Team Memorable Moments: 2021 & 2022 GCC Champions (Water Polo) & Win at UCLA (Football)

Harold Haak Individual Memorable Moments: Athena Clayson winning MW Championship in 200 Backstroke (Swimming & Diving) & Julian Sotelo winning Javelin at West Coast Relays (Track & Field)

Bulldog Academic Excellence Awards: Zach Morgan (Baseball) & Hannah Bujis (Equestrian)

Bulldog Strength Awards: Mose Vavao (Football), Gianna Chiaramonte (Track & Field / Cross Country),Keely Brown  (Women's Basketball),Orlando Robinson (Men's Basketball), Junyoung Yun (Women's Golf), Ella Rud (Volleyball), Josh lauck (Baseball), Pang Jittakoat (Women's Tennis), Alyssa Orr (Softball), Ronaldo Delgado (Track & Field / Cross Country), Emily Diacono (Water Polo), Darina Khisiamova (Swimming & Diving) & Lexee Padrick (Equestrian)
